Gassan Ryujin Marathon portrays Yamagata Prefecture through sports, nature, food, and hospitality.
Come see the sacred Mt. Gassan and the famous Tachiyazawa River, which was selected as one of the most exquisite bodies of water in Japan! Yamagata Prefecture is also known for harvesting some of Japan's most delicious rice. As you finish the race, you'll be surrounded by loud cheers and support from the local neighborhood - they will also welcome you back with their famous 'onigiri' rice balls and potato soup. This race is a perfect combination for those who love nature and food!

・If total cost is ¥5,000 or less, you will incur a flat fee service charge of ¥500.
・If total cost is more than ¥5,000, you will incur a service charge amounting to 10% of total cost.
1.) You cannot cancel, transfer, or change your name. We will not refund any overpayments or duplicate payments. If we exceed capacity, your registration may not be valid depending on the date of payment, even if the payment is received before the registration end date.
2.) In any case of earthquakes, wind and flood, snow storm, accidents, illness, the organizer will decide on cancelling and refunding.
3.) I do not have any heart failures, or illnesses. I am healthy and will train enough to enter the race. The runner will participate will take full responsibility of their own injuries, sicknesses, accidents, losses, and etc.
4.) I will withdraw from the race if the race decides that that I cannot continue. I will also follow safety instructions & operations from the race director and volunteers.
5.) If I get sick before the opening ceremony, I will not object to getting treatment. The organizer will not be responsible.
6.) The organizer will not be responsible for any accidents, loss, induries, or sicknesses during the race. I will not request for any compensation.
7.) I understand that compensation for any accidents or injuries during the race will be within the limits of the insurance provided by the race.
8.) My family, guardian (if under age), and team members (if you're the team captain) all agree to participating in the race.
9.) We do not allow false statement of age and gender or anyone other than the person registered to enter the race. If caught, you will be disqualified and will be banned from future races. The organizer will not refund the entry fee.
10.) I consent and will give all authorities and copyright to the event organization for the use of photography, motion pictures, articles, recordings or any other record of this event (including personal information such as name, age, gender, personal record, portrait, and etc.) for the legitimate purposes use in Newspapers, TV, Magazines, Internet and any Media publishing such as paphlets.
11.) the use of personal information conforms to the organizer's privacy protection law
1.) Your bib numbers must be placed on your chest & your timing chip must be on your shoes. You may be disqualified if your bib number is not placed properly. However, the Child and Parent pair race is not timed so you can finish the race together with only the bib number.
2.) You will return the timing chips after the race. You must return the timing chip even if you decide not to participate in the race, or if you get disqualified or withdraw from the race. You will be charged 500 yen for damaged or lost timing chips.
3.) Refer to the separate course map for each race. There will be 8 water aid locations for the half marathon, 5 water aid stations for the 10km, 3 water aid stations for the 5km, and 2 water aid stations for the 3km. (subject to change)
4.) Please be ready at the start line 10 minutes before the start time. However, start times are subject to change so plase be prepared and arrive early.
5.) Runners will generally run on the left side of the road.
6.) You are responsible for your own health. If you do not feel well on the day of the race, step forward and withdraw from the race.
7.) There are cut-off times to ensure a smooth and safe transition for the general traffic and race volunteers. Follow directions if you do not meet the cut-off times.
8.) Emergency vehicles have the right of way.
9.) For half marathon, 10km, 5km, and 3km - There will be intersections and railroad tracks to cross. You will be asked to stop a minute before the train arrives so you may have to stop. Follow directions.
10.) You should receive your race packets and bib numbers by the end of September. Please contact the office if you do not receive it.
11.) We will not provide bag check services. You are responsible for your own bags. However, there will be a place to hold your valuables. The race will hold up to 1 envelope per runner.
12.) There will be changing areas, but it will get congested so we recommend changing before arriving.
13.) Photos on sale are all approved by the event organizer.
14.) Park only in designated parking spots. There will be shuttles going to the start location.
15.) The race is not responsible for any delays in public transportation and road conditions.

18.) On top the rules mentioned above, you must follow directions from the race organizers.
There will be no registration on race day
You will receive the following by the end of September: Race Info, Timing Chip, Bib Number, and Participation Award Ticket. You can receive your participation award on the day of the race. Also, don't forget your timing chip. All lost or forgotten timing chips will cost 1,000 yen to replace.
*If you decide not to participate, be sure to mail back the timing chip using the return envelope.

・The organizer is aware of the importance of your personal information. The use of personal information conforms to the organizer's privacy protection law.
・Your personal information is used to imporve service such as race information, results, service from race affiliates, result ranking, and etc.
・The organizer may release your personal information when your life or body is in a life threatening situation.
・The race organizer and its affiliates may contact you regarding your registration information.
