The Osaka Yodo-River Citizens Marathon is the first marathon in Japan that takes place entirely along a riverbank. The people of the city have united and organized the event since 1997. This marathon is designed to embrace the importance of the environment and community so that men and women of all ages can enjoy the course.
This year's special guest is Naoko Takahashi! She is the first woman from Japan to win a gold medal in track and field in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the first woman to win the 2001 Berlin Marathon with a world record at the time.
